Summer Work
#1. What I Did on My Summer Vacation….
Create a PowerPoint with a minimum of thirty pictures that covers your entire summer vacation. Remember to take pictures of major and minor events that showcase those events. Make a title card with your name on it. You may put more than one picture on a slide, but remember to add a caption to each one. Be prepared to make a five-minute presentation the first week of school. Creativity counts, so show us what you know how to do with PowerPoint. Practice, so that you are not reading from them.
#2. Compass Learning
Most of you made your goals last year. Good job. For some, you may want to brush up on the basics. Summer is not the time to let your brain melt. Keep it active and focused for the new school year. Your password is still the same.
#3. Math Team
All of you make the Healy Math Team. Check your CPS email over the summer. I will be holding contests with prizes all summer.
#4. Explore the history fair website: www.chicagohistoryfair.org. Check out the possible options for this year’s topic of “Rights and Responsibilities in History.”
#5. Memorize the states and their capitols. You will have a test at the beginning of the year!
#6. List yourself
Introduce yourself through lists. Choose ten of the following topics and try to list fifty different answers to each.
